Kolobos might not be a title you hear thrown out in horror circles very often, because it was dumped into video stores without a theatrical release and given lousy artwork that had nothing to do with the film. This is definitely a small, low budget affair, but there's a lot of thought put into it and it looks absolutely beautiful.
Kolobos (also known as Haunted House) is a 1999 American independent horror movie that was directed by Daniel Liatowitsch and David Todd Ocvirk. The film was released on September 28, 1999 through Armitage Pictures.
Kolobos also features scream queen Linnea Quigley in a supporting role; it was the debut feature for the directorial team of Daniel Liatowitsch and David Todd Ocvirk. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi.
I was gifted Kolobos for my birthday one year on VHS, I was young and didn't think it would be a good movie judging by the cover. Finally I gave in and watched it, needless to say I LOVED IT! Well after the VCR became inferrior to the DVD player my Kolobos was boxed up and put away.
Night. Rain splatters the city. A young couple out for a drive take a shortcut through a deserted alley and makes a gruesome discovery: a girl, savagely slashed and battered, lies in a pool of her own blood. As the girl loses consciousness, she utters one word of explanation - 'Kolobos'. Flash back to 36 hours earlier.
